Woodward L-Series

The Woodward L-Series controls are designed for various industrial applications, including generator sets, welders, portable refrigeration units, irrigation pumps, chipper shredders, and mobile industrial gas or gasoline reciprocating engines. The microprocessor-based bi-directional actuator design easily attaches to fuel pumps, mixers, or throttle bodies. 

The L-Series are a modular system that can be ordered with different hardware configurations, as well as, control logic contigurations.

In terms of hardware the following models are available:

• General purpose bi-directional actuator
• Integrated throttle bodies (ITB)
• Integrated throttle bodies with venturi-mixer (LC-50)
• Air/Fuel ratio control
• Application-specific controls (Governors for Delphi / Stanadyne pumps)

Apart from the hardware variant of the Woodward L-series, the L-series come with three variants in terms of control logic:

• Speed Control (accepting a MPU or ignition system pulse)
• Position Control (accepting a PWM or 0-5 V position command)
• Process Control (accepting a process signal, e.g. O₂ or pressure)
